Use the up and down arrow button to scroll through the lists available functions trip computer.

The up and down arrow button also allows you to adjust the clock in setup mode.

Headlight and turn signal switch

Lighting control system and headlight range control

The external lighting switch can be set to one of three positions (or four in the Design version):

Exterior lights are turned off when the engine is not running; daytime running lights(DRL) are on when the engine is running.

Tail lights are included in combination with DRLs.

Tail lights and low beam lights are on high beam headlights depending on the position of the switch.

In the Design version, in this position the tail lights and low beam headlights switch on and off automatically depending on the lighting conditions. The sun sensor, combined with a rain sensor, is located on the windshield under the rear view mirror.

The exterior lighting control system (lighting system) allows you to turn on/off the tail lights and low beam headlights depending on the level of exterior lighting. For example, lighting devices are turned on at dusk or when entering a tunnel or garage.

The exterior lighting control system only works when the ignition is on. It should be remembered that when the exterior lighting control system is turned on, you cannot turn on the high beam headlights for a long time. To turn on the high beam headlights for a long time, you must move the switch for the exterior lighting control system to the low beam position.

ATTENTION The timing of turning on the external lighting by the external lighting control system may not meet safety requirements. Therefore, the use of this system does not relieve the driver of the need to comply with safety precautions and traffic rules.

Headlight range control switch (for some vehicle versions)

Depending on the number of passengers in the cabin and the weight of the cargo being transported, in some cases the headlight beam may be aimed too high. When driving on hilly terrain, headlights can have a blinding effect on both drivers of passing cars (through the rearview mirror) and drivers of oncoming cars. The axis of the headlight beam can be lowered using a corrector located on the front panel next to the steering column.

A larger number on the regulator corresponds to a stronger tilt of the light beam.

Setting the corrector control outside the scale can lead to desynchronization of the angles of the low beam light beams of the right and left headlights.

ATTENTION- Correct adjustment tilting the light beams of the headlights reduces the degree of dazzling of oncoming drivers. - To avoid unsatisfactory illumination of the road surface, do not set the corrector control to the extreme clockwise position.

Turn signal lever

VII. The driver pushes the lever away from himself, the rear window wiper operates. Fixed position.

VIII. The driver pushes the lever away from himself, the rear window cleaner and washer operate. Unfixed position.

In intermittent mode, the interval between wiper strokes is several seconds, regardless of the presence of drops on the windshield.

Rain and sunlight sensor (for some vehicle versions)

In the Design version, the car is equipped with a combined rain and sunlight intensity sensor.

It is located on the windshield under the rear view mirror.

ATTENTIONFor proper operation windshield wiper and automatic control of exterior lighting systems, it is necessary to keep the area of the windshield in front of the rain and sunlight sensor clean and monitor the condition of the wiper blades.

Automatic windshield wiper control system (for some vehicle variants)

In the Design version, the car is equipped with an automatic windshield wiper control system. It automatically turns on the wiper depending on the presence of raindrops on the windshield.

NOTICE: It is recommended that the automatic wiper control system be used only in rainy weather because the system is very sensitive to dust particles, fog, snow or de-icing agent and may operate the wiper when the windshield is dry.

The automatic wiper control system operates only when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position. To turn on the automatic windshield wiper control system, you must move the rain sensor switch, located in the sensor housing under the rear view mirror, from position 0 to any position from 1 to 4 (a four-stage adjustment of the sensitivity of the rain sensor is provided; the extreme right position of the switch (position 4) corresponds to maximum sensitivity ), and the windshield wiper control lever is in position III (operation in intermittent mode). In this case, the windshield wiper arms will make one stroke, after which they will stop or continue working depending on the number of raindrops on the windshield.

If the windshield wiper has already been turned on at this point, then after the next ignition is turned on, the windshield wiper arms will make one swing, after which the automatic windshield wiper control system will turn on.

In the event of a malfunction, the system will automatically switch to “manual” control mode.

To disable automatic system wiper control and activate the “manual” control mode, set the rain sensor switch to position 0 (far left position). In this mode, the windshield wiper control lever can be manually moved to the desired position.

When the ignition is turned off, the windshield wiper is switched off. The windshield wiper blades go into the “park” state.

If the windshield wiper was running continuously when the ignition was turned off, the windshield wiper blades may stop in a position other than the “park” position. To install the windshield wiper blades in the “park” position, it is necessary to set the windshield wiper control lever to position I or III no later than 30 seconds after turning off the ignition.

Regularly remove dirt, de-icing agent and bitumen deposits from the surface of the glass and rubber wiper blades using windshield washer fluid. Residues of insects, grease, wax and other contaminants on the windshield can cause the windshield wiper to malfunction and cause streaks to appear on the surface of the glass. If stains cannot be removed with windshield washer fluid, clean the surface of the glass and rubber blades of the wipers with a soft cloth and special detergents. After cleaning, wash the glass surface and rubber brush blades with water.

WARNING - To avoid damage, do not operate the windshield wiper when the hood is open. - Do not open the hood latch or raise the hood with the wiper arms raised. - Do not operate the windshield wiper when the windshield is dry. Failure to do so may result in scratches on the windshield and damage to the wiper blades. If the glass surface is dry, you must turn on the washer before turning on the wipers. - If the wiper blades are frozen to the glass, then before turning on the wiper, you must first turn on the heated windshield (for some vehicle versions) and make sure that the blades have thawed. Attempting to turn on the wiper blade with its blades frozen to the glass may damage the rubber wiper blade and increase wear on the wiper motor. - Do not clean the rubber wiper blade with gasoline or solvent as this will damage the blade. - Do not allow the washer to run continuously for more than 15 seconds .- Do not turn on the washer fluid if there is no fluid in the washer reservoir or if it is frozen.- At low temperatures, fluid splashed on the windshield may freeze and limit visibility. Before using the washer, it is recommended to warm up the windshield by turning on the heated windshield (for some vehicle versions).

Are you crazy? Are you going to drive halfway across Russia in this car? Oh well.
I heard similar phrases from my friends and readers when I announced my participation in a 9,000-kilometer motor rally using a new car. Russian automobile industry- Datsun on-DO.
- Yes, I’m going to, why not? And why does this surprise you so much?
- This is a VAZ car, a dubious idea...
Unfortunately, the long-term dislike and distrust of many people towards the “people's automaker” has become so ossified that by default they are ready to consider all the cars that AvtoVAZ produces as low-quality and bad, even without ever sitting in the driver’s or passenger’s seat. AvtoVAZ? That's it, don't expect anything worthwhile from him.
In fact, everything is not nearly as bad as many are accustomed to imagine.
The Datsun on-DO, or as it is also called the “Japanese Granta,” turned out to be very good - a 15-day test drive, during which we drove 9 thousand kilometers through 25 regions Russian Federation allows me to say this with complete confidence.

2. You can formulate an idea about a particular car different ways. You can read an article in a reputable magazine or on a specialized website, you can watch advertising videos, you can go to a car dealership to look under the hood, into the interior or sit behind the wheel, you can sign up for a test drive and drive a few kilometers, you can listen to the opinions of others people, specialists or owners of a specific car...
Or you can get behind the wheel and drive through half of Russia in real operation to get a full picture of what kind of horse is underneath you.
We received our Datsun On-Do in the Trust III configuration at the Barnaul dealership on November 10, 2014 and on the same day we set off on a 15-day motor rally through Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Togliatti, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Tambov, Ryazan, Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Tver, Velikiye Luki, Pskov, to finish on December 25 in St. Petersburg.

3. What is Datsun on-DO and where did it come from in our market?
The Datsun company appeared 100 years ago in Osaka, becoming, in fact, the progenitor of modern Nissan, into which it was finally transformed in the period from 1981 to 1986.
But in 2012 a revival was announced trademark, which will be presented exclusively in the local and most dynamically developing markets - Russia, India, Indonesia and South Africa.
In each of these countries, Datsun has organized the production of models specially designed taking into account the characteristics and specifics of a particular country.
IN Russia Datsun launched the production of the onDo model, which is presented in the low-cost niche people's cars and is designed to compete with the products of the Chinese auto industry and Lada.

4. Technically, Datsun on-Do is a car built on the Lada Granta platform with numerous technical changes and design developed at the Japanese Nissan design center.
Front and rear track, and wheelbase, match up to a millimeter. And it is produced on the same assembly line of the plant in Togliatti.
What is the difference between the Datsun on-DO and the Lada Grant? The biggest changes affected the gearbox, suspension comfort and handling.
The gearbox here is mechanical, the same as the Granta, however, Japanese engineers have made a number of changes to it aimed at improving its performance - a cable drive is used, which reduces the level of noise and vibration, as well as the quality of gear shifting, the profile of the 2nd gear teeth has been changed , main couple and reverse gear, which led to a reduction in transmission noise, and also eliminated traditional VAZ problems when engaging 2nd and reverse gears
I must say that the gearbox was a pleasant surprise: comfortably long 3rd and 4th gears allow you to drive around the city almost in automatic mode. Separately, it is worth mentioning the dynamics of the car. She's really going! You don't expect such dynamics from a 1.6-liter engine with only 87 hp.
On the highway, we had to overtake long trucks many times, with the need to quickly complete the overtaking due to the approaching oncoming vehicle. You press the pedal to the floor at 120 km/h and the Datsun responds quite cheerfully to this pressing, quickly increasing the speed. It’s very nice to know that even at a fairly high speed for this car, they have a reserve of power.

5. Now about the Datsun suspension and its differences from the base Granta.
Compared to the platform, Datsun now has gas-filled shock absorbers, providing greater comfort when driving on rough road, low rolls and minimal rocking on the waves, which, by the way, we fully experienced on the 4th day of our trip, turning beyond Ufa from federal highway and having traveled about 300 kilometers along not the most good roads, of which about 40 kilometers were on a dirt road washed out by rains, more like a testing ground for SUVs than a road.
Engineers changed the characteristics of springs and stabilizers lateral stability, aiming to improve ride quality and handling balance. In addition, compared to the Granta, the Datsun has gearless electric power steering.
Ves and I had no complaints about the handling of the car: the car steers perfectly both in the city in dense city traffic, and on the highway at high speeds, and at dirt roads where active steering wheel operation is required.
Like Granta, Datsun has a significant trump card for domestic consumers - high ground clearance

6. The engineers also took care of adapting the machine to winter operating conditions.
Datsun has heated front seats as standard, air ducts to the rear passengers' feet, as well as optionally heated mirrors and heated windshield.
In general, it is surprising that some cars made in Russia and for Russia do not have these, in my opinion, mandatory options for our country.
The Datsun base is also equipped with ABS system(with EBD and Brake Assist systems, manufactured by Bosch), which is also very important for operation in winter conditions.
There were several moments on our way when we had to brake urgently, including at slippery road, and the ABS worked very clearly, preventing us from “losing” the car.
If we talk about the safety of the car, then in the base it is equipped with front airbags for the driver and passenger, belt pretensioners and ISOFIX fastenings.
IN maximum configuration Front side airbags are also installed

7. Datsun has a short line of engines, or rather there are only two of them - 1.6 liters with a power of 82 hp. (only in basic configuration Access) and 87 hp. (for all other trim levels)
I have already said a couple of flattering words above about the pleasantly pleasing 87-horsepower engine. It is truly dynamic and elastic, it confidently drags a 1,160-kilogram sedan with a driver and passenger from a standstill.
Compared to Granta, engineers took care of additional sound insulation of the engine shield and hood, increased sound insulation of the interior floor, trunk and wheel arches from the inside.
In addition, Nissan mechanics calibrated the engine with increased stability idle move, installed a flexible bellows of the exhaust system and moved the rear mounting point of the exhaust system to the side member. All this made the car significantly quieter than the base Grant.

8. How much?
Datsun on-DO is sold only in fixed trim levels, of which there are seven!
The basic version of Access for 329 thousand rubles has an 82-horsepower 1.6 engine, and a minimum of options (which, however, includes a driver airbag, ABS, electric power steering, heated seats, tilt steering, Isofix mounts and a fully folding rear backrest sofa). The manufacturer places its main bet on the Trust configuration (there are three of them) at prices ranging from 355 to 389 thousand rubles. They have the same 87-horsepower engine that we drove, and the equipment includes two airbags, fog lights, central locking, bumpers painted in body color, an on-board computer, electric mirrors and front windows. Trust II for 379 thousand additionally includes climate control, and Trust III for 389 thousand in on-DO - a 2-DIN radio with USB/SD inputs and Bluetooth protocol.
TOP Dream configurations additionally include remote control central locking, rear windows, split folding backseat and preparation for the Hands Free kit (400 thousand), Dream II - light and rain sensors, as well as a 7-inch navigation system(430 thousand), and the maximum Dream III - heated windshield and rear-view mirrors, 4 airbags and standard parking sensors (445 thousand).
In my opinion, price policy The model is very competent: the base Datsun is not much more expensive than the Lada Grant, and all other trim levels are comfortably located in the empty territory between the Lada and Renault Logan/Sandero.

9. From technology, let's move on to the interior and ergonomics, because many users are less interested in technical subtleties and more interested in what will surround them every day while operating the car.
It's unexpectedly cozy inside - the Grant front panel has been upgraded with a new center console, and silver linings have appeared on the steering wheel hub.
The location of the knobs and buttons has not been changed, the devices are structurally the same, but the scales themselves have been changed for better readability, as well as in terms of style.
The Datsun seats were very successful! To be honest, before the start of the race I was much more worried not about the fact that the technology or the reliability of the car would let me down, but about the fact that my back and body would hate me for this journey. Yes, during the 15 days of travel, significant fatigue accumulated, but neither my back, nor my shoulders, nor my neck ever ached, although we had day trips of up to 1000 kilometers. So special thanks for the seats!

10. The plastic in the cabin is hard, but there are no squeaks or knocks due to the tight fit of the panels. The knobs and switches are comfortable, everything is at hand, the climate control is clear (although it is not entirely complete - only the fan speed is automatically adjusted, and the air flow needs to be controlled independently).

11. The car is equipped with a clear and readable on-board computer, the control button of which is located at the end of the right steering column switch. It shows daily mileage, average and instantaneous fuel consumption, outside temperature, coolant temperature, fuel and range, as well as travel time
By the way, I posted this particular photo for a reason. Here the computer just shows average consumption fuel for all 9 thousand kilometers of our motor rally. The result was 6.3 liters per 100 km. Not bad at all, considering that we were driving quite a lot on the highway at speeds of more than 120 km/h.

12. Mirrors. They are large and have excellent visibility.
Starting with the Trust versions, on-DO is equipped with electric mirrors, helping in their adjustment, and in the maximum configuration, with their heating.

13. There is enough legroom for both the driver and front passenger. There is somewhere to put your feet even when you sit in a chair for many hours.

14. The external lighting is quite good - both the low and high beam headlights are quite bright and well illuminate the road ahead of the car. Fog lights in the Trust versions are a good helper on unlit roads, illuminating the areas directly in front of the car (which is very convenient when driving on dirt roads and rough terrain at low speeds)

15. Ergonomics of the driver's seat.
In my opinion, this is one of the most controversial decisions of designers.
Two cup holders-pockets, a 12-volt socket and seat heating buttons, in my opinion, are arranged very poorly.
Firstly, the cigarette lighter socket turned out to be such that not only the splitter was constantly trying to fall out of it (yes, it is quite bulky), but also simply charging the navigator.
In addition, if something is plugged into this socket (and nowadays something is always plugged in there - a navigator, charging a smartphone or powering a DVR), then putting a half-liter bottle or a glass of coffee in the cup holder is very inconvenient - they the wires simply interfere with each other.
In addition, using the seat heating buttons located closer to the console will also be inconvenient

16. But besides the sockets on the console, there’s really nowhere to put a bottle of water in the cabin..
The pockets in the door cards are not intended for this and a bottle can only be pushed there “by force”

17. It will look like this

18. But the shelf above the glove box turned out to be a very good solution.
Due to the fact that the lid of the box is intentionally slightly higher than the shelf, it is simply an ideal place for a mobile phone or small items that need somewhere to put while traveling.

19. However, it is worth considering that if you open the lid, the side automatically disappears and objects from your shelf may fall into the glove compartment..

20. The air ducts are very well thought out, thanks to which in 15 days we did not encounter the problem of glass fogging at all. And in general, it’s very comfortable to be in the cabin - you don’t need to constantly make it warmer or colder - the “climate” works perfectly.

21. Datsun on-DO has a huge trunk. Yes, because of this feed the car looks a little big, but the volume is 530 liters!!!
There is more than a meter to the back of the rear sofa, and the height is very decent. By the way, an interesting detail is that a full-size wheel is hidden in the spare wheel niche. And the tires here are not Kama, like the Granta, but Pirelli P1 Cinturato.

22. The Datsun trunk can be opened either with an inconspicuous button under the light control unit on the front panel, or... with a key. You can't do it just with a button. Inconvenient.
To close the trunk, one of the niches is closed with a special plastic handle insert. But if you don't look under the trunk lid, you won't see it. It seems to me that a regular loop that is always visible would be much more convenient.

23. Another note concerns the hatch and gas tank cap. The fact that the lid was attached to a special flexible leash is good. But why didn’t they make a fastening on the hatch to secure the lid while refueling the car?
After all, during the operation of the car, the cover will definitely “rub” the bald spot on the roof. And it stains the paint with gasoline stains...

24. In general, in my opinion, the Russian Datsun turned out to be a pretty good car, even if it was built on the basis of the Lada Granta.
A significant factor that can tip the scales of a potential buyer's mind is the Datsun on-DO's after-sales service. Indeed, unlike the Lada Grant, it will be produced not at AvtoVAZ service stations, but in dealer centers Datsun, which, as a rule, have a common service base with Nissan and are located, as a rule, behind the wall of Nissan service stations. Specialists service centers Datsun undergo training according to the programs and standards of Nissan, as the parent company, so the level of service should be an order of magnitude higher than the owners Grant and Kalin are used to.
By the way, sales of Datsun hatchbacks, as well as versions with automatic transmission gears, which makes this car even more attractive to the buyer.

My previous photo reports and photo stories:

Centuries of experience of Datsun developers allowed us to create motor vehicle, which is ideal for the most complex road conditions Russia. Datsun On-Do design: interior and exterior photos

As the photos show, this model has a fresh, elegant and sporty design. The exceptional dynamic qualities of the model are hinted at by the sweeping lines of the body, the impeccable bullet-shaped silhouette, and the confident profile. Unique exterior vehicle determined by such elements as the laconic design of the stern, an expanded air intake, and expressive head optics in the shape of boomerangs.

The spectacular 6-sided radiator grille, the structure of which is formed by small black cells and a chrome frame, follows the geometry of the logo car brand. This draws attention to the lively and vibrant dynamics of the car. Additional stylish accents in the image of the vehicle are placed using the black honeycomb design of the halogen headlights and original 6-spoke wheels.

The expressive interior testifies to the enormous work done on it. The 5-seater cabin is characterized by improved sound insulation, high-quality cladding, and impeccable ergonomics. The manufacturer has equipped the interior with anatomical seats with enhanced support and a heating function. Spacious (530 liters) trunk, informative dashboard with on-board computer - distinctive features Datsun On-Do salon. Modifications with an ultra-modern multimedia device and audio center are available in Moscow.
